Meet Dejah Ford, LCSW
Full-Time Clinician - OCD, Trauma, and Child Therapy in Connecticut
Hi, I’m Dejah Ford, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at Blossom Grove Therapy. I work with children, adolescents, young adults, and families throughout Connecticut who are navigating anxiety, OCD, trauma, depression, low self-esteem, emotional overwhelm, and major life transitions.
Childhood and early adulthood bring constant change, and difficult experiences can sometimes leave you or your child feeling stuck, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward. Worry, self-doubt, impulsivity, or intense emotions may begin affecting relationships, confidence, school, work, or everyday life.
My goal is to provide a warm, supportive space where clients feel understood and empowered. Together, we can process past experiences, build practical coping skills, and work toward a greater sense of confidence, calm, and joy.
Dejah offers both in-person therapy in Middletown and online therapy for clients throughout Connecticut.
My Approach to Therapy
My approach is trauma-informed, strength-based, and grounded in empathy. I believe therapy should honor the whole person, including their experiences, relationships, culture, community, and the systems that shape how they see themselves and the world.
I use evidence-based approaches, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and mindfulness practices. These approaches can help clients manage anxiety and OCD, regulate difficult emotions, reduce impulsive behaviors, and develop healthier ways of responding to stress.
I also emphasize the connection between the mind and body, helping clients build greater awareness and use mindfulness strategies to feel more grounded. When working with children and adolescents, I involve parents and families when appropriate to strengthen communication and support progress outside of therapy.
