Meet Sarah Thibodeau, LCSW, IMH-E
Clinical Director & Full-Time Clinician - OCD, Anxiety, and Parenting Support in Connecticut
Hi, I’m Sarah Thibodeau, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Infant Mental Health Specialist, and Clinical Director at Blossom Grove Therapy. I provide therapy for teens and adults throughout Connecticut, and I am licensed to provide virtual therapy for clients across Vermont.
I specialize in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety disorders, hoarding disorder, and phobias, helping individuals who feel trapped by fear, uncertainty, avoidance, or compulsive behaviors reclaim their lives with confidence and flexibility.
As an Infant Mental Health Specialist, I have advanced training in supporting individuals and families during pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood. I understand the unique emotional challenges that can arise during these seasons of life, including perinatal anxiety, postpartum OCD, birth trauma, infertility, and the transition to parenthood.
My goal is to provide a warm, empathetic, and judgment-free space where you feel comfortable being yourself. I believe therapy should feel collaborative, practical, and grounded in a genuine therapeutic relationship. Together, we will explore what is keeping you stuck, strengthen your confidence, and develop the skills needed to create greater flexibility, resilience, and connection in your everyday life.
My Approach to Therapy
My approach is rooted in evidence-based treatment. I specialize in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT), two highly effective approaches for treating OCD and anxiety disorders. I also integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness-informed interventions, and solution-focused techniques to create an individualized treatment plan that supports your unique goals and values.
I believe that health extends beyond symptom reduction and encompasses the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. Together, we can explore ways to foster wellness in every area of your life while developing practical strategies for lasting change.
As Clinical Director at Blossom Grove Therapy, I provide clinical leadership for our practice by offering individual and group supervision, consultation, guidance, and ongoing training for our team of therapists. I am passionate about mentoring clinicians in evidence-based treatment for anxiety and OCD while fostering a culture of compassionate, authentic, and clinically excellent care.
Whether you are seeking support for OCD, anxiety, hoarding, phobias, or a significant life transition, I look forward to partnering with you to help you move beyond fear, embrace flexibility, and build a life that is meaningful, healthy, and fulfilling
