OUR SERVICES · MIDDLETOWN, CT & CONNECTICUT TELEHEALTH
Specialized care for OCD, anxiety, and the things that have felt too heavy to carry alone.
Whether this is your first time looking for a therapist or you have tried before and stopped, you are welcome here. The right kind of care can make all the difference, and we are here to help you find it.
IF THERAPY HASN’T HELPED BEFORE
You haven’t failed. You may just need a different type of support.
Many people arrive at Blossom Grove Therapy feeling discouraged because they have been in therapy before and still feel stuck. They may have worked hard, talked through their experiences, and tried to understand their patterns but the intrusive thoughts, compulsions, fears, or anxiety are still there.
If that is you, it does not mean you are beyond help. It simply may mean you need care that is more specifically designed for what you are facing.
For OCD especially, traditional talk therapy is not always enough. OCD responds best to specialized, evidence-based treatment from clinicians who understand how the cycle works. At Blossom Grove Therapy, every clinician is trained in Exposure and Response Prevention, or ERP therapy, the gold-standard treatment for OCD.
We also use other evidence-based approaches so your care feels personalized, not one-size-fits-all. You will never be rushed or forced to move faster than you are ready. We will meet you with care, clarity, and support, while helping you take the next step at a pace that feels possible.
12-17 years
AVERAGE TIME TO AN ACCURATE OCD DIAGNOSIS
Many people live with OCD for nearly two decades before anyone names it correctly. That’s years of feeling unheard, misdiagnosed, or quietly convinced that nothing will help. Getting the right diagnosis, and the right treatment, can change everything. It is never too late to start.
OUR SPECIALTY
OCD Treatment
For adults, teens & children (ages 6+) · In-person & telehealth
OCD is far more than being tidy or particular. It is exhausting, often frightening, and frequently misunderstood, even by other therapists. We have spent years focused on it, and it is the heart of what we do.
Our primary approach is Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the most effective, research-based treatment for OCD. It sounds intimidating, but it is gentle, structured, and always paced by you. Here is what it actually looks like:
We start with understanding, learning how OCD works and how it has been showing up in your life, with no judgment and no rush.
Together we build a “ladder” of situations, from least to most anxiety-provoking, using what you notice during the week.
We begin gently at the bottom of the ladder, facing small things while easing the pull to do compulsions and we stay with it until the anxiety settles on its own.
Step by step, at your pace, we move up the ladder, and you build skills and confidence you carry with you for life.
OCD Step-Down & Intensive Support
For clients needing more than weekly therapy.
Sometimes weekly sessions are not quite enough, especially for someone stepping down from an intensive outpatient program, or someone whose OCD symptoms are more intense and need more support to move forward.
Our newer program helps fill that gap. It combines individual therapy with small group sessions during the week, offering more structure and connection without the intensity of a full day program. You do not have to be coming from another program to join. If you feel like you could use more, we can talk about whether this is a fit.
Anxiety & Stress
For many people, worry eases once a stressful moment passes. But for millions of others, it lingers: racing thoughts, persistent fear, a sense of impending doom that doesn't let up. When that worry continues for months, it can become an anxiety disorder, the most common mental health condition in the country.
You don't have to face it alone. We help you understand how anxiety works, reframe the thought patterns that keep it spinning, and build coping skills so you can live your life based on your values, not on fear.
Online Therapy
We offer telehealth appointments to residents anywhere in Connecticut. If getting to the office is hard around work or childcare, online therapy may be a great fit. Sessions happen on a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform, on your lunch break, during a nap, or between meetings.
We meet you where you are and tailor the work to your needs, drawing on CBT, ERP, mindfulness, and ACT, the same specialized care you'd receive in person.
Practitioners Work
Medication can be a helpful part of treatment for anxiety and OCD. Our Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners works with you to evaluate symptoms, weigh options, and, if it's the right fit, provide ongoing care, all in a safe, collaborative space. It works best alongside therapy, so we coordinate as a team to support your progress.
We never make anyone do anything they're not ready for. This is your therapy. You run the show.
