Meet Sherri O’Shea, LCSW

Founder of Blossom Grove Therapy and OCD Specialized Therapist in Connecticut

Welcome. I’m Sherri O’Shea, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the founder of Blossom Grove Therapy, a Connecticut group practice where our mission is to provide compassionate, evidence-based treatment for OCD, anxiety, and related disorders.

I created Blossom Grove to be a place where children, teens, adults, and families can receive knowledgeable, compassionate care from clinicians who understand how overwhelming anxiety and OCD can become. Just as importantly, I wanted it to feel like a place where people are seen as more than a diagnosis.

When anxiety or OCD begins shaping your decisions, your world can slowly become smaller. You may avoid certain places, situations, people, thoughts, or experiences because they feel too uncomfortable or uncertain. These patterns may provide temporary relief, but they can also keep you from participating in the relationships, opportunities, and everyday moments that matter most to you.

Therapy can help you begin moving toward those parts of your life again.

My Approach to Therapy

My goal is to create a genuine, trusting relationship where you feel supported, understood, and capable of making meaningful change.

Our work together is not about eliminating every anxious thought or making sure you never feel uncomfortable. Instead, we will help you develop a different relationship with anxiety and uncertainty so that they no longer have to make your decisions for you.

We may explore the fears and patterns keeping you stuck, identify the values that are most important to you, and practice taking steps toward the life you want to live. You will not be expected to move faster than you are ready to go. Therapy is collaborative, and we will approach the work with honesty, patience, and compassion.

You may have spent a long time believing that you should be able to manage this on your own. You may also have tried therapy before without receiving treatment designed specifically for OCD or anxiety.

I believe it is possible to build a full and meaningful life, even when anxiety or OCD is present.
