Compassionate, Evidence-Based Therapy for OCD, Anxiety & Life’s Challenges

In-person therapy and medication management in Middletown and secure telehealth across Connecticut. You do not have to keep managing this alone.

A WARM PLACE TO BEGIN

The first step is often the hardest one.

Reaching out can feel vulnerable, especially when you are not sure where to begin.

Before you ever sit down for a first appointment, our intake coordinator takes time to understand what you are looking for, what has or has not worked in the past, and what kind of therapist may feel like the best fit. You are not treated like a diagnosis or a number; you are a person with a story, questions, fears, strengths, and a life you are trying to move through.

Whether you are reaching out for yourself, your child, your teen, or someone you love, we will help guide you through the next step with care and clarity.

OCD & ANXIETY

Specialized treatment, when talk therapy alone hasn’t been enough.

Some clients come to us after years of trying therapy and feeling discouraged. Others are newly diagnosed, unsure whether what they are experiencing “counts,” or afraid of what treatment might involve. We use evidence-based approaches built specifically for OCD and anxiety.

Therapy is collaborative. We do not force you into anything before you are ready. We work with you to reduce the power of fear and compulsions, and move toward a life guided more by your values than by anxiety.

THERAPY THAT MEETS YOU WHERE YOU ARE

You can come exactly as you are.

Every person comes to therapy for a different reason like intrusive thoughts, panic, social anxiety, perfectionism, excessive worry, trauma, a major life transition, or simply feeling stuck. Wherever you are starting from, you do not need to have the right words yet.

Most of our work is individual therapy with adults. We also support teens, children ages six and up, and families when that involvement helps, with care that is warm, affirming, and personalized throughout. We can begin together.

Meet Sherri O’Shea, founder of Blossom Grove Therapy

Sherri L. O’Shea, LCSW, IMH-E, founded Blossom Grove Therapy to create a warm, supportive place for people navigating OCD, anxiety, and perinatal mental health concerns. As the practice has grown, she has thoughtfully built a team of compassionate clinicians who share her commitment to evidence-based care, genuine connection, and helping each client move toward a fuller, more meaningful life.

Offering a new service at Blossom Grove Therapy: Medication Management

EVIDENCE-BASED CARE, HUMAN CONNECTION

Approaches we draw on, matched to you.

Therapy should feel both supportive and purposeful. Depending on what you need, we draw on a few evidence-based approaches. Here is a quick look at each.

Exposure & Response Prevention

ERP · PRIMARY FOR OCD

The gold-standard OCD treatment, gradually facing feared thoughts or situations while easing the pull to do compulsions.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

CBT

Identifying and shifting the thought and behavior patterns that fuel anxiety, stress, and emotional distress.

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy

ACT

Learning to relate differently to hard thoughts and feelings while moving toward what matters to you.

Inference Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

I-CBT

A specialized OCD approach that works with the doubt and reasoning patterns behind obsessive-compulsive symptoms.

Mindfulness-Based Support

MINDFULNESS

Building awareness, self-compassion, and emotional regulation for difficult moments.

Medication Management

PSYCHIATRIC CARE

On-site psychiatric care with a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Thoughtful medication support alongside your therapy, when it helps.

IN-PERSON & TELEHEALTH

Care that fits realistically into your life.

For some clients, coming into the office feels grounding. For others, telehealth makes therapy possible during a lunch break, between work and family, while home with a baby, or when getting to an office is difficult.
