Meet Sydney Cannon, LPC-A
Part-Time Clinician - OCD, Anxiety, and Life Transition Therapy in Connecticut
Hi, I’m Sydney Cannon, a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate at Blossom Grove Therapy. I work with individuals throughout Connecticut who are navigating OCD, anxiety disorders, phobias, self-doubt, and other life stressors.
My approach integrates Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you step out of cycles of avoidance, reassurance-seeking, and fear. Rather than waiting for anxiety to disappear, we can work toward building the confidence to experience discomfort while moving toward what matters most to you.
I believe therapy is about learning to live your life according to your values—not your fears. Together, we can work toward greater flexibility, self-trust, and the freedom to engage in the people, experiences, and goals that make your life meaningful.
I strive to create a compassionate, judgment-free space where you feel supported, understood, and empowered to make meaningful change.
Outside of therapy, I enjoy hiking, meditation, yoga, reading, traveling, and animal photography. These interests help me stay grounded and reflect my belief in the importance of balance in our lives. I believe that caring for ourselves is an essential part of being able to care for the people and things that matter most to us
My Approach to Therapy
I believe therapy is a collaborative process. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I tailor our work to your individual needs, goals, personality, and current stage of life.
I use evidence-based approaches, including Exposure and Response Prevention, solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions. These approaches can help you recognize unhelpful patterns, respond differently to anxious or obsessive thoughts, and develop skills that feel useful in everyday life.
Throughout our work, I will meet you where you are and support you at a pace that feels manageable. My goal is to help you feel heard while also giving you practical tools to build confidence, manage stress, and create meaningful change.
